Saucony Women's ProGrid Guide 2 Running Shoes Reviews

I was diagnosed with severe plantar facitis after I fractured my foot. I had been wearing heels and sandles daily for probably 20 years. I never knew you could have these types of injury to your feet. Mostly everybody I speak to were able to heal from it within a month or so, and they usually only have it in one foot, not both like me. For those of you who don't know, PF is very painful to the heels, arches and balls of your feet and also affect your calf muscles. I was devastated when the doctor said I had to wear gyn shoes for a while until I heal. Why? Because I could not walk on the bottoms of my feet! They would hurt so bad that I would end up walking on my tip toes or the sides of my feet all day! Gym shoes are not my style AT ALL but I couldn't take it any more.
I had some Nike in the past so I pulled those out. TERRIBLE, even with an insert.. I had some brand new Avia that I never wore before. TERRIBLE. My knee would get hot and my feet and legs would hurt. I tried on EZSpirit. Oh my goodness, terrible. My therapist suggested a running shoe because it should give more support through the ball of the foot. So I found a actual running store who recommended this shoe based on need, stride, stance. WOW!!!! I never knew sneakers could feel like this. And I never ever would have spent this kind of money if it was not for comfort - was my max. AMAZING shoe!!
I tried on some other brands just to be sure like new balance, asics, brooks and nothing could compare to this shoe for comfort, support, stability and looks. I've had the grey/yellow and just purchase my second paid in silver/pink. I just ordered the TR version for the winter months. Yes. I wear them daily, with everthing, everywhere, church, work, etc, so they have to be somewhat cute and versitile. But the most important things in support and comfort. Although my injury happened a 9-08, I just started wearing them in 3-09. The healing process is slow but sure and these shoes makes a HUGE difference.
I will continue buying the Guide even through all their upgrades because it, by far, is the shoe for me.
Oh - I can only workout on the bike or rowing machine and now my toes dont go numb and my knees don't heat up. I sneak sometimes and go for a walk which work well too. I used to have to stop every other block to beat on my calves or stretch my feet, but not anymore. I just ice them when I get home and do my regular therapeutic stretches. Hopefully I can get back into some real shoes by the beginning of the year.
I know this was long, but hopefully it will help someone in the same situation. Be blessed.

I have owned numerous different Saucony shoes over the years, as the brand just seems to fit my wider flat foot. I both walk and run, and am rehabiliting a foot injury. This shoe has been great, and the custom orthotic I have been using fits perfectly. It is a quality shoe, and in fact this is my second pair of the very same shoe. Due to my injury I've had to wear these shoes all day everyday for the last 7 months. Great shoe, will buy them again!

Saucony Men's ProGrid Guide Running Shoe,White/Black/Orange,11 M Reviews

Shoe is great for running or casual wear. Have been running for years and the Saucony progrid guides are so far the best trainer i have found. Plenty of support, and heal cushioning. Long lasting.

About two years ago, I went shopping for some running shoes at Big Peach Running Co. in Decatur, GA (which I also highly recommend for their service and prices). While probably not a unique service, Big Peach Running Co. was the first shoe store that I had shopped at which videotaped my stride while I was running on a treadmill to determine which sort of shoe would be best for me. They gave me a couple pairs to try on, one of which was a pair of the Saucony ProGrid Guides. When I put them on, I could immediately tell that they were an excellent shoe for me; they offered both comfort and support. After using them for two years, I pulled out the insoles last week and found holes in the big toe area of the inserts (the rest of the shoes are still in pretty good shape). I replaced the insoles with Dr. Scholl's inserts (which greatly improved these old shoes), but I also bought two more pairs. They arrived within 2 days (with free shipping due to my purchase of two pairs!), and they are awesome, just like my first pair. I hope Saucony never stops producing this product; if they continue, they will have at least one loyal customer for the next 70+ years.

Saucony Men's ProGrid Guide 2 Size: 10.5, Width: D, Color: White/Navy Reviews

Having been an runner as a teen, I thought it would be easy to resume running in my early forties. I have extremely high arches and had always used a neutral-cushioned shoe. Now, those shoes cause me injury and pain. It turns out that, although I underpronate, my foot pronates considerably at the moment of impact with the ground because of my weight. Heavier runners need a stability shoe, but finding shoes for heavy runners with high arches is like finding Wonka's Golden Ticket. The Saucony Men's ProGrid Guide 2 running shoe has been my dearest running mate. No more strains, pulls or pain. The ProGrid Guide 2 provides excellent stability, and just enough arch support to compensate for the impact pronation. Good cushion on the heels, and my narrow feet fit comfortably and snug in the shoes. The toe box has ample space and the laces hug the top of my feet comfortably. A little stiff, right out of the box, but once worn in, I've been a running fool! Gotta get a couple more pair, before they're discontinued.

I was a big fan of the first release of the Guide series. While I love the balance of stability and cushioning in this shoe, the toebox of Guide 2 is cramped compared to the first release. I had to go down half a size and still feels cramped. I wish they didn't mess with the fit.
